Travel Tips 2: For First Time Travelers
Since the terrorist attack in USA on 9/11, airport security has become tighter every where around the world. Either there is an air marshal on board or there are armed security officers patrolling in airport.Every year, there is new security ruling take place. It affects travelers as we now need to know what we can or cannot bring into a country. Not paying heed might just add to inconvenience and unpleasantness to an otherwise happy trip.
1. Check what you can bring on board
Do you know you are prohibited to carry sharp objects like scissors and razors in your hand-carrier? Some airlines even prohibit bottles, even those skin care bottles women carry? To avoid unnecessary trouble, it is good to err on the side of caution. If you are not sure of what can be carried onto the plane or stuff in your luggage, call your travel agency or the airline for the list of contraband item for both hand-carry bags and luggage. If you’re too lazy to check and you want to avoid being queried and checked by the securities, leave those questionable items at home.
2. Bring your own medicine
Lots of first-time travelers forgotten that health is wealth when traveling. You want to enjoy taking in the sights and sounds, and not wandering around looking for clinics or hospital and paying high medical price in some countries simply because you are a foreigner. Many people either ignore this or choose not to pack some emergency medicine. In fact, even when you are flying within your own country, it is a good idea to be prepared for emergency replacement of your medications. You should pack enough medication for your trip, as well as additional medication in case you are delayed. Don’t forget to make a list of all of your prescribed medications and dosages along with the name, address, and phone number of your doctor. Place all these in a large zip lock bag with all of your medications, in their original prescription bottles. This will help you in two ways. Firstly, it will help you move through security with your medications without too much trouble. Secondly, you will be prepared for any emergency replacements of your medications should they be lost or stolen.
These travel tips about your medications will not only help you in getting pass security checks easily, it will might help you save lots of inconvenience and money.
