Travel Tips 31: What to Look Out for Beach Vacations
The idea of relaxing on an idyllic beach is a perfect holiday for many folks. It would be a perfect vacation during winter. Think of the white sand beaches in the Bahamas and the Asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines. In fact, I can’t wait to ditch my work to pack my bags to get to the beach. I’m already imaging sipping my Tequila Sunrise with that little umbrella there …
Here are some tips if you do consider a beach vacation
1. Which beach to go
If you intend to visit the hottest beach, then you have to be contended that it is likely to be extremely busy. In other words, you might not get to relax the way that you imagined. You might even have to fight for a spot on the beach where you can actually enjoy the sun.
Overcrowding of beaches can be a big problem in the summer months as it is the time when most people take off from work. So you may want to opt for a more remote beach where you can relax.
Secluded beaches are situated more inland. Inland beaches may not be true beaches, but they are just as good. You will still benefit from water and sand as well as having most of the beach to yourself. It could be that the inland beach is set near a river or a lake and you can have plenty of fun on them without the hassle and the noise of thousands of other people.
2. Where to stay?
Where will you be staying? Ideally you will want lodging near to the beach. This means higher cost. Also, you won’t get peace and quiet at hotels which are situated near the beach. The solution is to rent a villa and hire a car to get you to the water and sand. If you visit an inland beach you should easily be able to find a villa or an apartment close by to rent.
