Travel Tips 3: How to Save Money While You Travel
Who say you cannot travel if you are low in cash? You still can do that except you must do lots of research before you embark. Here’s 5 tips to share with you:
1. Don’t follow the traveling trends. When everyone else is heading off to a particular hot spot, go cool off at somewhere else! When it’s far from the madding crowds, you will find that the price is also more favorable to a slim wallet. Off-season travel is a good idea.
2. Get cheap air tickets. Go check out courier companies if they need someone to hand carry a parcel somewhere. You get a free ride but that also means you got to travel on their schedules and not yours. Go online to check and compare prices. very often you can get a good deals. Look out for offers from both premium and budget airlines. You might get a great deal if you check prices for different times of the day, or avoid weekend flights.
3. Try alternate transport routes. Don’t limit yourself to air traveling – consider a cruise, a bus, or a train. Cruises can be great fun with a few port stop-over. Bus travel can be a relaxing way to get to your destination if time is not a concern. Rail travel is another good choice.
4. Drive your own car. Before you decide on a driving holiday, do your maths. Besides the petrol pricing, you’ll have other expenses like parking and overnight accommodation. You must definitely get your car serviced before you leave, so you don’t have to worry with emergency repair bills.
5. Get Cheap Accommodations. If you are the type that leaves early and will only return when it’s time to sleep, go look for a cheap 3-star hotels, motels, B&Bs, hostels or even backpacker dorms. So long it’s clean and safe, you shouldn’t be too concern about stuff like decor and ambience. Don’t forget about house sitting too. You could set up an exchange of your home with someone else in the area you want to travel to.
